DRAM Components

Solutions for any environment

Simms provides the UK's most extensive DRAM Component portfolio sourced from Intelligent Memory and Kingston Technology. Whether it's legacy DDR or the latest DDR4 industrial temperature ICs, Simms offers a solution to meet diverse needs.

Small yet mighty

DRAM Components offer a distinctive blend of features and capabilities, addressing various design challenges, including those encountered in handheld devices. While the cost-per-bit of DRAM Components may be higher compared to standalone DRAM chips used as external memory, the performance benefits of integrating DRAM Components onto the same chip as the processor often outweigh the associated cost disadvantages in numerous applications.

Versatile technology

DRAM Components find extensive application in consumer products like gaming consoles, smartphones, smartwatches, and VR devices, which demand prolonged battery life. Their compact size and lightweight nature make them ideal for such devices. Moreover, DRAM Components play a crucial role in industrial sectors spanning telecommunications, medical, automotive, IoT, and AIoT devices. Their small footprint and wide operating temperature range render them suitable for remote applications and edge devices within networks.

Core Product Solutions

DDR4 & LPDDR4

DDR4 offers significantly higher transfer rates and operates at lower voltages compared to DDR3, making it well-suited for a wide range of consumer and industrial technologies.

DDR4 offers superior performance and reliability compared to DDR3, with an impressive operating temperature range of -40°C to +95°C. It boasts higher module density, lower voltage requirements, and faster data transmission speeds. LPDDR4, or Low-Power Double Data Rate DRAMs, further enhance efficiency with integrated ECC error-correction capabilities, operating across the industrial temperature range while consuming minimal energy. Both DDR4 and LPDDR4 are available in commercial and industrial temperature variants, catering to diverse application needs.

DDR3

DDR3 is Double Data Rate SDRAM's third generation.

DDR3 remains prevalent in industrial electronics, offering reliable performance across various applications. Despite some manufacturers discontinuing production, Intelligent Memory and Kingston continue to manufacture DDR3 to serve a thriving customer base. This technology finds applications in IoT, robotics, factory automation, 5G networking, wearables, VR, AR, health monitoring, smart home devices, and smart city infrastructure. Available in capacities ranging from 1Gb to 16Gb, DDR3 Embedded DRAM supports ultra-high density modules for demanding settings. These components are available in both commercial and industrial temperature variants.

DDR2

The DDR2 is the second generation of SDRAM technology.ms as per their requirements.

DDR2 offers higher speeds and lower power consumption, thanks to its reduced supply voltage of 1.8V. Intelligent Memory provides specialized modules featuring embedded ECC functionality, enhancing reliability. These modules effectively convert non-ECC modules (with a 64-bit wide data bus) into devices with ECC-level reliability.

Available in capacities of 512Mb, 1Gb, and 2Gb, DDR2 modules are offered in both commercial and industrial temperature variants.

DDR

DDR1 technology continues to be utilized across various industrial applications, albeit with a limitation of 512Mb density per chip.

DDR memory, primarily present in legacy systems, still serves in applications with specific supply requirements. It is offered in capacities of 256Mb, 512Mb, and 1Gb, available in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges.

SDRAM

Intelligent Memory's SDRAM series encompasses 256Mb and 512Mb SDR devices, available in both FBGA and TSOP packages, offered in standard or industrial temperature grades.
